Tuesday Tidal Wave with Guest Teacher
Melbourne’s longest running 5Rhythms class (formerly Tuesday Tsunami) welcomes first timers and long-timers. This weekly ‘drop-in’ class was started started by Meredith in 2003. David is the regular teacher and Meredith returns as a guest teacher once a month (Return to the Source).
This night aims to create a respectful, fun-loving and welcoming space for the community. At 8pm there is a 45 minute warm up dance – a time to ‘arrive and become more present. The teacher brings the group together to introduce the class and another 1 hour ‘wave’ follows. The intention is for the dance journey to be deep and silent.
This class starts at 8pm and runs for 2 hours. Please arrive for an 8pm start, as entry closes at 8.30pm, with no late entries permitted. If you have questions about coming to a 5Rhythms class (even if it is not your first time) please read about the class guidelines on our page: Coming for the First Time
THIS WEEK MOVING ESSENCE WELCOMES GUEST TEACHERS FROM SAN FRANCISCO – ALESSANDRO MORUZZI AND VEHLLIA TRANNE FROM THE CITY WAVES
Alessandro Moruzzi and Vehllia Tranne are certified 5Rhythms® Teachers accredited by 5RTA (5Rhythms Teachers Association), founded The City Waves in May 2014, offering weekly 5Rhythms classes and regular workshops in San Francisco, USA and globally. All of their classes and workshops are open to everyone of any shape or physical ability, and the hours count as Waves on the 5Rhythms Dancing Path towards Teacher Training, while Alessandro also teaches Heartbeat. They offer many years of experience in 5Rhythms, dance, music, theater, performance, healing, spiritual practices and shamanism. They always draw their inspirations from nature, deeply connected to the ancestors, offering heartfelt intuitively crafted experience and support for each dancer, holding a safe and transformational space for all.
“I love attending Vehllia and Alessandro’s 5Rhythms classes. These two beautiful teachers fill up the space with their heart and dedication to the 5Rhythms practice. It’s a wonderful way to spend 2 hours moving and releasing your day at whatever pace you want to. It’s a space to let loose and be yourself. The 5Rhythms as a practice allows me to move through the wave of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness and the emotions that may come up through it (fear, anger, grief, joy, and compassion). It’s a beautiful practice with beautiful people!” – Piya B.
“Dancing meditation. Going through the flow-staccato-chaos-lyrical-stillness, the wave through life and the moment, brings me the solutions to life, the answers, the joy, the happiness. Moving through and finding the expressions to return home to my own self. I love dancing with The City Waves. Vehllia and Alessandro are the most kind and genuine teachers and dancers. Thank you for providing this dancing community and holding the space week after week, month after month, without fail. They both are exceptional and special in many ways.” – Bettina N.
