Sunday Sweats at Convent
To sweat is to pray, to make an offering of your innermost self. Sweat is holy water, prayer beads, pearls of liquid that release your past. Sweat is an ancient and universal form of self healing, whether done in the gym, the sauna, or the sweat lodge. I do it on the dance floor. The more you dance, the more you sweat. The more you sweat, the more you pray. The more you pray, the closer you come to ecstasy.

Sunday Sweats are music-only, un-facilitated, 2 x 1 hour 5Rhythms Waves – the second often with a deeper intention or ‘theme’. It helps to have been to a 5Rhythms class before but it’s not essential.
Moving Essence teachers David Juriansz and Meredith Davies offer these sessions at Abbotsford Convent – a charismatic historic venue, with plenty of eating venues and picnic spots among the Convent grounds. Rosina Auditorium is a large, light venue close to grassy lawns and a shady courtyard. Children are welcome to this class if supervised.
The Sunday Sweat RETURNS to the Convent!
We are now able to adopt the new Covid-Safe Summer arrangements which allow a more generous density quotient
~ ONE class goes for 2hrs – Doors Open at 10am
~ 80 people maximum in the hall at one time (density quotient of 1 per 4 sqm)
~ Register by payment online (attendance record needed for contact tracing)
~ Advance card payments by phone or EFT transfer also welcome.
~ If you feel any cold or flu like symptoms you MUST NOT ATTEND.
If ANY part of booking process or payment is difficult please contact us in advance and we’ll find a flexible arrangement.
Please don’t drop in unless we’ve spoken beforehand and advise you to.
Then, for the dance:
~ Please arrive in your dance clothes with your own filled water bottle
~ Face masks must be carried at all times
~ You do not need to wear a mask to enter hall or whilst dancing.
~ We continue to encourage socialisation before and after class outside.
