I completed my 5Rhythms Heartbeat Training over a year ago… It was a 12 month journey and in all honesty, I spent a large portion of that year moving through a flood of feelings – grief, anger and regret as I began to process the loss of my dear father. I realised that the best training for me was to really understand how movement truly is medicine, how once we move the body, emotion is not far behind and that the process of letting emotion through empties us and creates space for the new. It takes courage to take this journey. And it takes humour and humility to know that we all have stuff to move through.

I love The Guest House by Rumi.

It says so much about what it is to be human and it invites us to fully feel and welcome our humanness, warts and all.

And David Hosking is once of Melbourne’s hidden treasures.  A songwriter we are honoured to know.  Listen to his song ‘Scrap’ – heartfelt beauty for anyone who has ever put their heart on the line.

Please know that I am offering a respectful, held, heartfelt space this weekend where you are welcomed and encouraged to feel, to move with and through whatever is going on in your life.

with love

The Guest House
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each gu est honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
