Dear Thursday Wave dancers,

What an honour I have to offer a 5Rhythms class tonight on this auspicious day for Britain.

Though Jason wished me to ‘sleep like and angel’, still jetlagged, I lay awake much of last night…comforted by the sounds of heavy rain. The tune of ‘Washing of the Water’ (Peter Gabriel) comes to me…

I was thinking about the class, wondering about the mood in London, wondering what (or who) will show up tonight on the dance floor after voting on such a significant issue?

Maybe they’ll all just stay home and watch ‘election night?’

mmm…I think most people who love this work would rather be dancing than listening to talking heads…their own OR ones in suits!

Although results will probably not be known until Friday – regardless of outcome – the votes will be cast – the decision to be discovered. So we can surrender and drop into our bodies and breathe.

The UK remains a special place for us – London was our home for many years. The place where Meredith found her first 5Rhythms class… The home of our first teachers – Sue, Nina, Alex, Claire, Deborah, Alex Adam and many more…plus the friends we made though this community.

And now dear teacher colleague’s like Jason – willing to create a little space for his Aussie 5R brother…

This London 5R community is so big. If I wasn’t touring the kids around – I could dance a new class each night for weeks!

So to come back for one night, and offer just a little of what this practice, this place, has offered me – on this memorable day – fills me with gratitude…

I hope you will join me for a 5Rhythms journey tonight…

Here’s a post – what I wrote about before leaving home. Let’s see what shows up, but I’m sure there will be a little letting go tonight…

Love

David Juriansz
